Business & Management Careers
Business degrees are the broadest ticket in Hong Kong — banks, conglomerates, startups and the civil service all recruit from them. What separates graduates is rarely the degree title; it's early certification choices and internships.
Typical careers
- Accountant (audit, tax, corporate reporting)
- Banking and financial analyst
- Marketing, brand and digital specialist
- Human resources officer
- Management trainee (retail, logistics, property)
- Supply chain and operations
- Founder / family business
Professional certification ladders
Accountancy: the CPA qualification runs through the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) Qualification Programme; an accredited accountancy degree gives the most direct route. Finance: roles involving regulated securities activities require licensing with the SFC, for which the HKSI Licensing Examination is the standard paper. Global designations such as the CFA charter are optional boosts in asset management.
Level of study
BBA programmes sit at Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 5; a master's degree is QF Level 6. A bachelor's plus HKICPA QP completion is the standard accountant stack.

Tight for a funded BBA place? Self-financing universities (HSUHK in particular) run business-first portfolios, several with SSSDP subsidies. Already working?
