Study in Australia

Australia pairs Group-of-Eight research universities with a strong vocational (TAFE) sector and generous post-study work settings — a good fit for both degree-seekers and skills-first students.

How admission works

Most applications go directly to each university (or TAFE) — there is no single national portal for international students, though some states run central services for particular sectors. HKDSE, IB and A-Levels are accepted with published score conversions; entry is rolling and earlier applications get first pick of courses and scholarships.

Qualification structure

Bachelor's degrees run three years (four with honours in many programmes), aligned to the Australian Qualifications Framework — bachelor's and master's map naturally onto Hong Kong QF Levels 5 and 6. TAFE diplomas provide a recognized pathway into year 2 of many degrees.

Visa and post-study

Study requires a student visa with a genuine-student assessment and financial evidence; graduates can access a Temporary Graduate work visa whose duration depends on the qualification level — check current Home Affairs rules.
