Study in Ireland
Ireland offers English-medium degrees inside the EU, a concentration of tech and pharmaceutical employers, and gentler fees than its neighbour — a quietly popular choice for business and computing.
How admission works
Non-EU applicants (Hong Kong students included) apply directly to each university's international office; the Irish CAO central system is for EU applicants. HKDSE, IB and A-Levels are accepted with published requirements per programme.
Qualification structure
Honours bachelor's degrees (Level 8) typically run three to four years; master's one year. English-taught throughout.
Visa and post-study
After accepting an offer, apply for a study visa (Stamp 2) with fees paid and evidence of funds. Graduates of Level 8 programmes can stay up to 12 months under the Third Level Graduate Programme, and Level 9–10 (master's/PhD) up to 24 months — per the Irish Immigration Service's current rules.
