Study in Macau
Macau's universities have grown fast, with several now well-ranked regionally — and for Hong Kong students it is the closest overseas option: about an hour by ferry, with living costs gentler than Hong Kong.
How admission works
Apply directly to each university (University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology, and others); there is no central system. HKDSE is widely accepted, with English-taught and Chinese-taught programmes across the system.
Qualification structure
Bachelor's degrees run four years; some programmes include structured internships tied to the resort and gaming economy, which is also where many graduates work.
Visa and post-study
Hong Kong students study under a special stay/residence arrangement with minimal friction; graduates who take jobs obtain the non-resident worker identity (the 'blue card') via their employer — terms per current Macau authorities.
