Study in Taiwan
Taiwan is the classic value option for Hong Kong students: recognised degrees, low tuition and living costs, Mandarin-medium teaching, and a well-trodden Hong Kong student community.
How admission works
The main channel for Hong Kong students is the overseas joint admissions scheme run by the Overseas University Admission Committee (海外聯合招生委員會) — one application covering many universities — alongside direct applications to some universities. HKDSE results are accepted with published expectations; medicine and some programmes have separate rules.
Qualification structure and language
Bachelor's degrees run four years, mostly taught in Mandarin (a growing number of English-taught programmes). Non-Mandarin students should budget time for language readiness.
Visa and post-study
Admitted students obtain a resident visa through the university and an Alien Resident Certificate after arrival. Graduates may work under the points-based employment permit for overseas and Hong Kong/Macau graduates — quotas and points per current official rules.
