Study in the United Kingdom
The UK is the most-travelled overseas route from Hong Kong: familiar qualification recognition, three-year bachelor's degrees and a large Hong Kong student community.
How admission works
Undergraduate applications go through UCAS, the central service — one application covering up to five programme choices, with a personal statement and a reference. HKDSE, IB and A-Levels are all widely accepted; each university publishes its own grade expectations. Postgraduate applications go directly to each university, typically for September intake, on a rolling basis — the same 'apply early' logic as Hong Kong's taught master's market.
Qualification structure
Bachelor's degrees typically run three years (four in Scotland), master's one year full-time — level mapping matches Hong Kong's QF (bachelor QF5-equivalent, master QF6-equivalent).
Visa and post-study
Study requires a student visa sponsored by the university, with financial evidence; there is a post-study work route for graduates (duration and rules change — check the official UK government pages before planning).
